For my game mechanics I plan to keep it simple for my character, run, jump, attack. Nothing too fancy. If I had more time I'd probably explore the double jump feature and maybe an effect where you can change Jack from shadow into normal coloured version and vice versa. But for now I'm happy with how everythings looking and coming together in this silhouette style.
I decided to make the health bar and coins in colour so they stand out against the silhouette back drop. Making them easier to spot for the player and keep tabs on as they play. I don't plan for the background to be black and white, I want a orangey/amber colour to mimic sunset/early evening because it'll give the city a warmer feeling. But I'll need to make sure my yellow coins still stand out against the backdrop so the player can spot them easily.
